The Lake Area Rods and Classics has an enthusiastic membership of approximately 120 members from 60 families. The members are about 50% male and 50% female coming from many diverse backgrounds. Most are retirees which include teachers, a school principal, firefighters, a Fire Chief, policemen, Police Captain, engineers, pilots, University Professors, a military Base Commander, jet engine mechanics and many military veterans. The only requirement for joining is to have an interest in cars; primarily old cars. Of the more than 200 cars owned by members, most are muscle cars from the 1960ʼs and 1970ʼs, as well as classic cars from the 1950ʼs, with a sprinkling of 1920ʻs & 1930ʼs Fords, Chevys and a Pierce Arrow. These cars have won many awards such as Best of Show, Peoples Choice and numerous Class Awards.
